Valve announces CS:GO Minors
The CS:GO Regional Minor Championships is a new initiative from Valve to further nurture the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive eSports scene. It will give the opportunity to teams that aren't yet good enough to play in the Majors, to play on a professional stage with full, high quality production. This will hopefully give teams the necessary experience to make the next step into the Major competition.
Each Minor will feature a $50,000 prize pool and the winner of each regional Minor will be invited to participate in the offline qualifier for the Major at MLG Columbus. As of right now, there are four minors planned: CIS, Europe, Americas and Asia.
Teams that have participated as Challengers or Legends in previous Majors are not eligible to participate in the Minors.
