Tunisia qualifies for TWC 2016 with flawless victory against the Morocco
Morocco found their way into the Grand Finals by defeating Libya in the Semi Finals, while Tunisia took a much more difficult path having to play three maps against South Africa in order to join them.
The match started off on Tunisia’s pick - Cache, but both teams played equally good in the first half with Tunisia having only one round advantage before the second half. The second pistol round for Tunisia seemed to give them wings, as they took the advantage of the T side not losing a single round until the end of the map.
The Tunisians continued with the strong performance on Dust 2, lead by great effort from Alaeddine 'Potei' Chaari. Keep in mind that these two teams had opened the African Qualifiers with a draw on Dust 2 as Tunisia had reached 14 rounds before Morocco made a massive run to first reach the 15th round. Yet again looking at a massive deficit, Morocco pulled out another miraculous run, much like in the Group Stage, and even though they managed to take 8 out of the 15 rounds in second half, the comeback fell short. Tunisia prevented what would have probably been Overtime in the crucial 29th round, taking a 2-0 lead in Grand Finals.
Morocco didn't plan to go out without a fight, and they clawed their way back into the game on Mirage, as they finally found a way to create decent 9-6 lead after the first half. Unfortunately for them, the stubborn Tunisians constantly found chances for pick-offs in second half, keeping themselves close behind Morocco. Eventually they were able to turn around situation and suddenly a 3-0 sweep was looking imminent. One match point was enough for Tunisia and they could start celebrating!
