TWC2016 Sweden first european team to qualify

Sweden has managed to successfully qualify for The World Championships 2016 at Belgrade’s Kombank Arena, after defeating Kazakhstan 3-0 (16-2, 16-5, 16-7).

Even though Sweden was a big favorite in the European Qualifiers, there was a chance of an upset after Kazakhstans very surprising strong run so far in the qualifiers. However they were not able to play up to that level, and without their main stars, Hobbit, Mou an Adren, and against a strong nation like Sweden, they were unable to compete. The MVP of the match was Richard 'Xizt' Landström, showing an excellent performance on all three maps. His exact stats were: 61 kills, 26 deaths and a 108 ADR. And it is with that great performance that Sweden has managed to qualify for the Grand Finals held in Belgrade.

Sweden was fourth placed team in The World Championships 2015.

Last year, Sweden managed to reach the Semifinals where they lost to Poland. They played in group A with Germany, Serbia and Indonesia. They’ve finished second in the group, right after Germany. After the group stage, they played the Quarterfinals against Canada who they beat 2-0. After that they were matched against Poland who defeated Kyrgyzstan 2-0. It is there in the Semifinals that they lost to Poland 2-1 and their journey came to an end. The Swedish lineup last year was: “Xizt”, “pauf”, “pyth”, “Devilwalk” and “pronax”.

Stats of the match.

Sweden is known historically as a CS giant, and very few people would be surprised if they ended up lifting the trophy. However, that will be no easy task as they will be facing fierce competition from rivals in Europe and perhaps a dark horse will appear from the other continents, all with an equal desire to lift the trophy and put their nation on the top. Tune in from the 5th to the 9th of October to find out who will be The CS:GO World Champion!

Sweden didn't make the finals last year, can they do it this one
